“5 who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. 6 In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, 7 so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.” – 1 Peter 1:5-7 (ESV)
We are blessed to share our love for the brethren of Nigeria and a love for God with many of our fellow laborers in the Lord who labor there. What follows is part of a letter that Doug Wheeler mentioned in the bulletin two weeks ago, that he received from one of our Nigerian brethren, Godwin I. who preaches in Nigeria. Notice his positive, thankful attitude in spite of the problems that surround the people of Nigeria. Please keep all the brethren in Nigeria and their trials in your thoughts and prayers. For the elders, Ken D
Dear Brothers,
I greet you with the love of the Lord. I hope that all is well with you, and this letter finds you and your families in sound health.
From what I heard, it was very sad and unfortunate what happen to the people of Haiti during the storms. May God bless the congregations for their help to them.
I am doing my best to teach and preach the word of God here. Recently after staying a long time without a convert, the Lord added a soul to his kingdom. I baptized a young woman of 27 years into the Lord. This convert came as a result of series of lesson I taught, with the title “Why we believe what we believe. She was a member of Assemblies of God church. To God be the praise! I also enrolled 11 people to WBS as students.
Thank God for the November Presidential election in America which was peaceful, I pray God to continue to bless America Amen.
The economic recession in Nigeria is now terrible, immorality and theft is on the increase. When people go to worship on Sunday, thieves break into their houses, eat any food that they see, and steal their properties. A sister in the congregation where I am preaching was affected and she is a widow, one of those you have helped. I have visited her with my wife to encourage and pray for her.
These thieves, for some time now, because of hunger, people now go to farms that are not their own to harvest cassava to eat. What is happening is sad. May God have mercy!
Extend my sincere regards to your families and the saints there. I am preaching the Word.
I remain, Yours in the Love of God, Godwin I.

May God help us to mature.
On a brighter note, we are all doing well. Mike Knappier and Dimpo Motimele are up in Namibia where we have our mission point now with a short term school in process. We have just ordered another container of Bibles from China for East Africa and the Nigerian Chariot will be ready for export in a month’s time. Meaning we will have 13 chariots going into 19 countries and we have brethren pleading with us from all over Africa to help with chariots in their areas as well as they see what is happening on the continent. As they say “success breeds success” and it’s starting to snowball and it’s not us, it’s the Lord and the African brethren taking responsibility of evangelizing their own continent. I personally have always seen that and it’s now taking fire and we need to thank all you American supporters for backing this vision. Thank you, thank you to all.
The Bible seems pretty clear about this question. We can read for ourselves the answer. The real question is: Do we accept the answer? The world doesn’t see the difference at times. Sadly, there are some within the church who can’t tell the difference either.
Remember, Everyone!
Amen, the New Big Gospel Chariot is progressing nicely at Ramcom in George South Africa and should be finished mid-March, Lord Willing. Thank you, Brandon and those working on the building of this chariot. I have started the paperwork for the export of the completed truck. Please pray for Nigeria and those who will oversee and work this unit and please also pray for those who will hear the wonderful name of Jesus in the coming years. To God be the Glory. Thank You Lord. In Him, George Funk
We must be hearers of the Word, but we must also be doers of it. As nice as it is to know it we will do better in dealing with, for instance, anxiety, when we understand that there is a far richer benefit: “He who does the will of God abides forever” (1 John 2:17). Yes, that’s a promise. If you live as God wants you to, then you will enjoy eternal life in His presence.
