Highland Lakes Church of Christ Building
We are currently requiring everyone attending the Sunday morning worship assembly and Wednesday evening Bible study to wear a mask in keeping with the Health Departments guidelines. Once inside and seated, you may remove your mask. When you leave your seat, we ask you to wear your mask again. We thank you for your consideration of and care for others. Masks are available if you need one.
“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” (John 13:34-35 ESV)
“Many are the woes of the wicked, but the Lord’s unfailing love surrounds the man who trusts in Him. Rejoice in the Lord and be glad, you righteous, sing, all you who are upright in heart!” ~~ Psalm 32:10-11
I told my boss three companies were after me and I needed a raise to stay at my job. We haggled for a few minutes, and he gave me a five percent raise. Leaving his office, he stopped and asked me, “By the way, which companies are after you?” I responded, “The gas, electric and cable company.”
As a result, people brought the sick into the streets and laid them on beds and mats so that at least Peter’s shadow might fall on some of them as he passed by” (Acts 5:15).
There is an old song, “Me and my shadow” Yes, each of us does have a shadow, it is called OUR INFLUENCE. As the tiniest hair will cast a shadow, each life casts its shadow of influence. We all have been influenced by the lives of others, for better or for worse; and we have and will influence others.
We pass this way but once, so it is utterly important for our influence to cast a shadow of blessings.
The converts of the early church were won to Christ not by books and sermons, but by observing how Christians lived their lives.
Somebody has once written these words: “No man or woman of the humblest sort can really be strong, gentle, pure, and good without somebody being helped and comforted by the very existence of that goodness.”
“THE LIGHTEST BREEZE THAT EVER BLEW
SOME TENDER GRASS WAS WAVERED.
THE SMALLEST LIFE I EVER KNEW
SOME OTHER LIFE HAS FLAVORED.”
If I walk with the Lord in the light of His Word, what a glory He’ll shed on my way. He will make my SHADOW A BLESSING!
