WITH SYMPATHY  

Jay David Parr passed from this life on Tuesday, January 2nd at Lakeway, Texas. Visitation took place on Friday, January 5th at the Cherokee Church of Christ. It was followed immediately by the funeral service at 10 am. David Suggs, minister for the Cherokee church of Christ, officiated. Interment was at the Restwood Memorial Park in Clute, Texas.

Our love, sympathy and prayers go out to his wife Vicky and to all of the family and friends. The Parrs attended our congregation quite frequently over the years, but Jay’s long-time illness brought on a lot of changes in their lives.

We just received a prayer request from our fellow laborer in Cambodia. Prayer is a powerful tool to help spread God’s Gospel of salvation. Please keep our brother Dennis Welch and his companions in Cambodia in your prayers. For the elders, Ken D

Greetings Brethren,

The light is striving to overcome the spiritual darkness in Cambodia… Once again, Dennis and a half-a-dozen or so others will mount up and ride deep into the northeast jungle of Cambodia, to spiritually dark places and bring light, prayer and the gospel to any who will hear. This is our mission. Your part is prayer! We beg you to start praying now. Pray all the way through the 12th of January and beyond. We’re praying that the Spirit of God will go before us and prepare the way for His Word, Isaiah 55:3-11. We’re praying that the Lord blesses all who receive Him with the full benefit package as in Psalm 103. We’re praying that the Light of the Word destroys the darkness. Will you join our prayers?

If you look at Facebook we have a prayer page called “Prayer Circles Cambodia.” I’m calling this first one of 2018 the Prayer Circle Cambodia NE 2018. A couple of guys have worked up maps for you to follow if you’re in to that. Our ride will begin on Monday, 8 January at 7am local time and conclude some time on Friday, January 12th.
