One of the blessings of supporting the spreading of the gospel in Nigeria is getting to know Brother Mike Udam one of the Nigerian preachers whom our congregation supports. LORD ANSWER ME
Dear friends, today I decided to do a little research into the mathematics of prayers and I am delighted to share these findings with you. Like any empirical research findings, these points are so valid that if followed closely, we will not cry again about our prayers not being answered.
PRINCIPLE 1 – GODLY LIVING IS THE BASIC INGREDIENT TO ANSWERED PRAYERS.
Psm. 34:15 “The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and His ears are attentive to their cry.”
Psm. 145:18 “The Lord is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth.” 19 “He fulfills the desires of those who fear Him, to all who call on Him in truth.”
Prov. 15:29 “The Lord is far from the wicked but He hears the prayer of the righteous.”
Jer. 29:12 “Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.”
Jas. 5:16 “Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.”
PRINCIPLE 2 – DOING THE WILL OF GOD IN YOUR LIFE MOTIVATES GOD TO ANSWER YOUR PRAYERS.
Jesus gave us a solid example : John 8:28 “So Jesus said, ’When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you will know Who I am and that I do nothing on My own but speak just what the Father has taught me’” . 29 “The One who sent Me is with Me, He has not left Me alone, for I always do what pleases Him.”
Jesus taught about that principle: John 9:31 “We know that God does not listen to sinners. He listens to the godly man who does His will.”
John 15:7 “If you remain in Me and My words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given to you.”
Apostle John added his voice too: 1John 3:22 “And receive from Him anything we ask, because we obey His commands and do what pleases Him.”
1John 5:14 “This is the assurance we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us”. So my very good friends, when next you read Matt 7:7 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” 8 “For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.”
And Mark 11:24 “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”
Know that there are principles to be strictly followed to activate the blessing of answered prayers. These findings show that there is division of labor. It is man’s duty to do the things that please God and it is God’s pleasure to answer the prayers of man. Look inward and work on your relationship with God and the results will simply be amazing.
Prov. 16:7 “When a man’s ways are pleasing to the Lord, He makes even his enemies live at peace with him.”
