Welcome, New Member!
Sherry Sisco let us know last Sunday that she wanted to place her membership with us. Sherry has visited our congregation quite often, and we are so happy that she decided to be one of our members here at Highland Lakes. We welcome you, Sherry, and hope that we can be of mutual encouragement as we work and worship here together. Her address information for your directories can be obtained from the church office.
The Annual Teachers/Public Servants Appreciation Breakfast
It will be on Friday, August 22nd from 7 AM to 9 AM. As usual, we will need workers to help with various jobs. There are sign-up sheets on the table in the auditorium, please come and help us honor these special people in our community!
Food Pantry Needs, Regular & Special
Toothpaste, tooth brushes, and bar soap, canned meats, such as chicken, tuna, beef stew etc. are needed. Currently, no plastic bags or egg cartons are needed.
In the CLOTHING AREA: good, useable items are always welcome. If you still want to contribute to the donations that help us with the purchase of school supplies for some of the children of our Food Pantry clients, please give the money to either Ken Darnell or David Zoller. You can also contribute by check designated for the pantry during Sunday contribution,
Our Yearly Ice-Cream Fellowship
It will be this Sunday evening (August 10th), after our worship assembly. If you have a favorite home-made kind, bring it. If you want to buy a delicious store-bought kind, some of us like that, too. Or you can bring some additional items to make the ice creams even better, such as various toppings, and also cakes or cookies. Be sure and attend!
VISITING FOR THE MASTER
(VISITATION PROGRAM) Team #2 (leaders: Cary & Brenda Miller) will meet on Wednesday, August 20th, at 6:30 pm in the Library for their assignments.
