We are excited to receive a lengthy missionary report from the Emperados in the Philippines. Due to its length, it will be posted in parts. This is part three of five. Please keep this work in your prayers. For the elders, Ken D

Dear Family and Friends,

We were blessed as a whole family, to travel to Cebu in August for the first time since Dec. 2019. The kids and I had been to Cebu a couple of times since we were vaccinated, but Becky had not. When restrictions for travel lifted and she was well enough, we made the trip. We were able to see all our missionary family there, the Murrells and Robinsteins, & others, along with Brother Wilkey. It was his first trip home since March of 2020. Oh what a sweet homecoming!

Small taste of what heaven will be like! Mr. Wilkey is in his 90’s and still going strong, loving, serving, teaching, and blessing those whom he meets. There were so many pioneering missionaries in the 60’s & 70’s, like the Wilkeys, the Buchanans, the Bryans, the Smiths, & others, who laid a great foundation for us to build upon. Bob Buchanan, beloved brother, who wrote so many study guides and outlines for teaching the books of the Bible that we use for teaching in our MOSES classes and young churches, earned his reward & went home to be with Jesus this past July. He and Ken had more than 50 years of working together, spreading the Gospel across the Philippines and many other countries.

The Baybay church is inviting me to be their guest speaker on October 30 th . They will be celebrating their 17th anniversary. Ken Wilkey, Bob Buchanan, Samson Octobre, and the MOSES team planted the church there during the 60 th landing anniversary of Gen. Douglas MacArthur in Leyte. In October, every year, they have a big celebration at Palo, Leyte where Gen. MacArthur waded back ashore. They will have a reenactment of the PT boats landing. I will try and post pictures on Facebook.

The Baybay church for years has already had their own land and building, through help from the Sugar Grove Church of Christ. I remember how the youth group there sold BBQ plates at church and hired themselves out to do chores for members to raise money to help Baybay. Now Baybay has two elders and full-time preacher that they support.

Much Love, Richard, Becky, and Kids (2304) 3of5
