CHEROKEE DAY ON MAY 1ST

Cherokee day in a different format!

This year, Saturday, May 1st, was designated to be CHEROKEE DAY Grocery Day. This “Drive-through” event had guests enter the campus by their new arched entrance for a driving tour of their campus. Opportunities to visit with the children and staff were available to visitors.  There was a take-out line at the pavilion, where the visitors in the cars picked up a delicious barbecue sack lunch to enjoy on their ride home. Drive-through time was between 11 AM and 1 PM.

Like always, our congregation financially contributed to the HOME’s grocery drive. Money donations are considered very helpful, because with those the HOME then are able to buy groceries in bulk or according to their needs.  Our congregation’s donation was personally delivered on that day. All our members were invited to go and visit CHEROKEE HOME FOR CHILDREN on this special day!  We have supported the efforts of the Cherokee Home for many years financially and with out thoughts and prayers.  Let us continue to do so always.

BIBLE CAMP NEWS

News from the Heart of Texas Bible Camp, Brady, TX

The Sunset Ridge Church of Christ in Brady, TX, is hopeful that the yearly camp sessions will be able to take place again this year.

This is the upcoming schedule:

Session One — Grades 4-7 — June 6-11 — directed by Virgil Webb

Session Two — Grades 8-12 — June 13-18 — directed by Robert Baugh and Dale Sheehe.

We hope and pray that it will be possible for those sessions to take place. After a year of challenging times, it would be a great blessing for the children and all the members of the staff.

BEAUTIFUL FOOTPRINTS

“And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!”” Romans 10:15

Despite all the hindrances of the COVID pandemic our brethren are finding ways to spread God’s word. Here is part of the 1st quarter Gospel Chariot report from Nigeria. Keep all of these works in your prayers. For the elders, Ken D

Hi everyone. This is only our African update and we are looking at ways to not make it so long winded, but a picture tells a thousand stories. Hope this finds you doing well. God is Good and we are unbelievably busy. I personally cannot keep up with all the reports and updates coming in from all over the world. God is up to something really, really big with Gospel Chariot and now also Gospel Share Missions.

Hundreds have been baptized into Jesus this first quarter with more than 20 small groups or churches started and more than a thousand have been trained up with our 4 fields discipleship multiplication tools. We believe that God is helping us mobilize the church during this trying time. We cannot wait until all the Gospel Chariots are back on the road, but until then we are NOT WAITING, but allowing God to equip us, and we equip others, who equip others. How this has all come about is a miracle from God, and we give him the Glory. See below what God is doing.

NIGERIAN 4 FIELDS DISCIPLESHIP MULTIPLICATION TRAINING

Biodun Owolabi has reported the following on the 24th of February: Praise God for the souls that obeyed the gospel after the Four Fields discipleship teaching at Church of Christ, Kemta, Abeokuta, Nigeria, last Sunday.

NIGERIAN GOSPEL CHARIOT BACK HOLDING GOSPEL MEETINGS AND A NEW CHURCH PLANT

Biodun Owolabi has reported the following on the 2nd of February: The Nigeria Gospel Chariot engaged in an evangelism outreach to Laderin Estate, Abeokuta, Ogun State, from January 21 through 30, 2021. This was the first outreach in 10 months since the chariot was parked by the middle of March 2020, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic that ravaged and is still ravaging the whole world. The meetings were held Thursday through Saturday for two weeks culminating in the establishment of a new congregation on Sunday, January 31, 2021. The outreach was a success in spite of crowd restrictions to conform to Covid-19 protocols. We covet your prayers for the growth of the new congregation.
