CHANGES FOR REMAINING SUMMER FELLOWSHIP MEALS

Special Guest Speakers in July & August

We will have special reports from mission works in July and August and with this comes a temporary change in our regular Fellowship Meals.

Kirk Eason (SABC) will report in the combined adult class and then preach for us on Sunday, July 23rd, the fourth Sunday of the month. The rescheduled Fellowship Meal will give us time to enjoy visiting with Kirk.

Andy Baker, from World Christian Broadcasting, will report about this work and preach on Sunday, August 20th, the third Sunday of the month. Our Fellowship Meal has been rescheduled for that Sunday also, so that we will be able to enjoy Andy and extend our time visiting with him. As always, evening worship will be dismissed on both Sundays.

Put these times on your calendar, so you can plan to attend both events!

2 Thessalonians 3:1 “Finally, brothers, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may speed ahead and be honored, as happened among you,”

It is always exciting to hear about the things that are happening at SABC. We will have the honor to hear from Kirk Eason personally when he reports here at Highland Lakes next month. Till then this is part of the midyear report from SABC. We are thankful as a congregation to be able to help support this work. Please keep it in your prayers.   For the elders, Ken D

A significant breakthrough was achieved recently when the students went to a place called Verena in Mpumalanga. The town had been devastated by a bus accident which claimed the lives of twenty children from fourteen families.

Eddie Nkosi worked with his congregation in Daveyton and managed to contact the grieving families through the Mayor of Verena and Churches of Christ in that area.

The students supported the grieving families and Eddie Nkosi delivered the counselling message to the families. He and Churches of Christ raised R40,700 to give to those who had lost loved ones. As a consequence of this the Councillor of Verena, Mr. Msibi, made a piece of land available on which to erect a building.

Student Representative Body Southern Africa Bible College Evangelism Report

On the 11th of April 2017 the students went to Elandsfontein Church of Christ to help the saints with a door to door campaign. It was a great day to reach out to the people without any obstacles. We started working at Elandsfontein around 09:00am and we finished at 16:00pm. We worked with Brother Sipho Mabaso who is in charge of the evangelism ministry, with the help of Elandsfontein leadership. On behalf of the students, we would like to thank the faculty for giving us an opportunity to reach out to the lost souls and so fulfil the great commission.

On 27th April, a public holiday, the students, attended the Gospel meeting at the Meadowlands Church of Christ. It was a well-organized Gospel meeting for the students, for they did not encounter any great difficulties, because of the good preparation work. We left for Soweto at 07:00am and we started working around 09:00am, and finished at 13:00pm. They gave out shopping bags which have the name of the church, and numbers to call if one needs to contact the church. It was great to reach out again. Praises be to God. The leadership of Meadowlands Church of Christ gave R800 for petrol, R400 for each taxi.
