THANK YOU NOTE

To Our Church Family,

Thank you so much for all the calls, texts, cards and prayers while Dad was in the hospital. We appreciate you all! In His love, Valerie Cook

VISITING FOR THE MASTER

(VISITATION PROGRAM) Team #2 (leaders: Cary & Brenda Miller) will meet on Wednesday, June 21st, at 6:30 pm in the library for their assignments.

TOWN HALL MEETING

There will be a Town Hall Meeting at our building on Tuesday, June 20th, at 5:30 PM until 7:30 PM. Llano County Commissioner for Precinct 3, Mike Sandoval, has requested permission for such a meeting at our facility. He has assured us that this is an “informative only” meeting for those who are interested about services etc., available to the citizens of Kingsland. It will neither be political or money-making. It is simply designed to inform and he will answer questions. He will bring bottled water for those who attend. Such meetings have already been held at various area churches, including the Baptist and the Community Church.

In Philippians 2:25-30, the apostle Paul expressed the concerns and love that both he and the church in Philippi have for Epaphroditus, whom Paul calls “my brother and fellow worker and fellow soldier” and how they were all concerned over a serious illness that Epaphroditus had dealt with in his work for Christ.

Many of you have heard that our sister in Christ Sharon Welch, whom we also help support as a fellow worker with her husband, Dennis, in Cambodia, has been diagnosed with Typhoid Fever. We too are concerned over her illness and want us all to pray for her recovery so that we can thankfully rejoice to God as the Philippians did when Epaphroditus recovered. Please keep Sharon and her family in your prayers. For the elders, Ken D

Sharon has been feeling pretty bad for a couple of weeks. The first symptoms showed up on the 15th. We went see the doctor on the 26th. He ran lots of test and concluded she most likely has Typhoid Fever. We’re still awaiting news about confirmation from the lab cultures. She feels really miserable, experiencing most of the typical symptoms. Prayers are welcome

What are the signs and symptoms of typhoid fever?

Persons with typhoid fever usually have a sustained fever as high as 103° to 104° F. They may also feel weak, or have stomach pains, headache, or loss of appetite. In some cases, patients have a rash of flat, rose-colored spots. The only way to know for sure if an illness is typhoid fever is to have samples tested for the presence of Salmonella Typhi.

I love you guys and appreciate your prayers, love and encouragements. Furthermore, I am grateful Go d has blessed me with people like you. I continue with the treatment plan my doctor gave me last Friday. Sunday and Wednesday were pretty bad days. Monday and Tuesday were good, just weak. Thursday has been my best day since getting sick 3 weeks ago. My doctor wants to see me again Friday (today) if I still am not doing really well. This morning I experienced some of the same on-going symptoms but they seemed to be reduced. Therefore, I will wait and see my doctor for a scheduled appointment for Tuesday, June 6th. Generally, it has seemed as though every third day or so this disease flares back up and I have a rough, miserable day. However, I am grateful for the better days and prayerful I am over the hump. I continue to stay in bed, even on good days, and sleep, read and watch a bit of TV –I have barely been out of my bedroom since Friday. Thank you again.
