“For it is all for your sake, so that as grace extends to more and more people it may increase thanksgiving, to the glory of God.” 2 Corinthians 4:15 (ESV)

When Brother Doug Wheeler went to Nigeria in January, he took with him funds from our congregation to help the work there. Several preachers were given the money to buy a motorcycle that would aid their efforts to evangelize the people of their part of Nigeria. What follows is a thank-you letter to us from one of those preachers. Please keep God’s work in Nigeria in you r prayers. For the elders, Ken D

Dear Brethren, Greeting to you in the precious names of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. My name is Brother Simon C. Iwebo, the Minister at Church of Christ, Okpanam, Delta State, Nigeria. I am writing to appreciate and thank you for the gift of $750 you sent to me for the purchase of a motorbike in support of my preaching work at Okpan am.

I am overwhelmed by the support and I ask God to reward you all.

The Okpanam local Church came into being in 2012, after some preaching was done in that community lead by our dear brother, Elder Emeka Molokwu, of Church of Christ, Omomko, Asaba. We appreciate his efforts.

Today, the local Church is gradually growing steadily with some challenges here and there. One of the challenges is the fetish nature of the community, and with 70-80% of the inhabitants, idol worshippers. I do believe that with prayers and the help of God who converts souls, we will continue to preach the gospel that saves the soul without fear.

I must not fail to convey my sincere thanks and gratitude also to Brother Douglas, who stood for me before you, to justify the purchase of the bike. May God bless him. I purchased the bike on the 5th of January 2016. It has been numbered and necessary papers procured for it. My picture and that of the bike is herewith attached with this appreciation letter.

Please remember the Church in your prayers that God would help us to grow and bear fruits, and that members may have the desire and zeal in the things of Christ and the Church. John 15:15, 2 Tim 2:2.

Finally remember us in your prayers that the economic downturn in our country, Nigeria, will not hinder the members from being faithful.

Once again, on behalf of my family, I thank you, and may God remember the labor of your love.

In Christian Love, Brother Simon
