With Sympathy
Crystel Walker, mother of Charles Greenawalt, lost her husband, Sam Walker, on April 15th. Memorial services were held on Sunday, April 17th, at the Buffalo Gap church of Christ. Our hearts, prayers and condolences go out to Crystel, Charles and all the family and friends.
Sandy Haber, a “daughter of the heart” of Thelma & Ken Thuleen, had been included in their family for 42 years. It was a difficult time, since Sandy had a number of health issues. She passed away at age 56. We send our loving thoughts and prayers to Thelma & Ken and all who were family and friends of Sandy.

Beautiful Footnotes
“So when they were sent off, they went down to Antioch, and having gathered the congregation together, they delivered the letter. And when they had read it, they rejoiced because of its encouragement.” Acts 15:30-31 (ESV) It always has been exciting and encouraging to receive a letter of good news. This week as we hear from Comfort Mafunda, whom we as a congregation have the honor of supporting as a student at the Southern Africa Bible College, it is exciting too. As Comfort studies and prepares himself in spreading God’s word, we can also be encouraged by this fine young man and keep him in our thoughts and prayers. For the elders, Ken D
Here is Comfort’s latest report. Look forward to representatives from Highland Lakes getting to meet him in person! Peace, Kirk Eason, Director of Development SIBI.
Dear Brethren I greet you in the wonderful name of our Lord Jesus Christ. I thank God for this opportunity for being able to write to you again. This year I’m working with the congregation at the Spengane Nursing College. So far everything is under control. We have started Bible studies every Sunday morning because we realized that sermons are not enough to bring someone to Christ. During the “Easter” holidays I went to Durban, my home town, and I was given an opportunity to preach at KwaMashu Church of Christ twice. Then I had to come back before the College opened again for classes because I had an appointment with the dentist. During that period I stayed with one of the married students who have individual housing and the dorms close during breaks. So far I’m looking forward for this term although now it’s starting to be cold here since the winter is near and I don’t like it but then I don’t have a choice — God is in control. Once I again really appreciate the good work you are doing for the College. May God continue showering you with more blessings. Comfort Mafunda
