SOUP FELLOWSHIP MINISTRY UPDATE

Our first Soup Luncheon on Wednesday, August 28, was a success! Five guests along with 12 members feasted on hobo soup, salad, crackers, homemade corn bread, cookies, and tea. Enjoying a meal was great, but the best part was fellowshipping and getting to know each other. Please pray that this ministry will not only bind us together, but that it will also reach out into the community and open minds and hearts to the gospel.

Our future Soup Luncheons are scheduled for the 3rd and 4th Wednesdays of each month. If you are interested in helping prepare a meal or in contributing to this endeavor, we welcome your support!

EATING OUT TOGETHER

Those who enjoy eating out together will meet on Thursday, September 12th, around 5:00 — 5:30 PM, at ―Mama‘s‖ in Burnett. The sign-up sheet is on the table in the back of the auditorium.

THANK YOU NOTES

To our Highland Lakes Church Family, Thanks for the prayers, thoughtfulness and food, while Jan recuperates from her broken leg. All of you are a blessing in our lives. Jan & Kynn Maxwell

Dear Highland Lakes Church of Christ, Thank you so very much for the blessing of over $600.00 for our students’ supplies. It means so much to a child to sit down at a desk with new materials of their very own. We also enjoyed the breakfast! Thank you for hosting our faculty. Everyone had a great time and began the day with full tummies and hearts.  Meloni Puishes (Kingsland Charter School)

Cherokee Home for Children Summer Review

Let us never forget to pray for the Children at the Cherokee Home that we also support. They had an exciting summer mission trip to the Philippines. They too are going back to school. They also are offering an interesting program next month for their young men. We always need to lift them up to their Father in heaven. For the Elders, Ken D

AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE IN THE PHILIPPINES A dream came true! Cherokee Home for Children made its first international mission trip this June. A longtime dream of Executive Director, Shawn Hull, the trip was made to the island of Cebu, Philippines. Seven staff members and six teens made the two-week trip focused on ministry to street children and a local church’s ministry to children.
