GOSPEL NEWSLETTER – APRIL- JUNE 2019 CHURCH OF CHRIST, IGARRA, EDO STATE, NIGERIA Part Three

News, Needs & Notes

My Health:

For some time now, I have had struggles with my health. Since April this year, I have been seeing Drs. at the Specialist Hospital in Irrua, here in Edo state. I have had problems with my throat, and some other concerns with my neck region. Mainly, I have gone through several tests and x-rays that have not yielded much results. Specifically, at Irrua, they lacked the equipment to look into my throat. Last month I was sent to the bigger hospital in Benin, but the situation was not different. At last, I am now seeing Drs. at the ENT clinic at the huge University College Hospital in Ibadan in Oyo state. My next appointment is the 8th of August. I ask for prayers.

State of Insecurity

The state of insecurity in Nigeria is becoming a global concern. Our national leaders are not honest about the seriousness, probably because they are guilty one way or the other. Boko Haram was the major source of violence. Now the Fulani Herdsmen banditry is far worse. Almost everywhere in Nigeria, this menace is being reported. Kidnapping, has continued to grow and spread as well. No one individual has the solution to these our societal problems, but we do have a God in heaven that answers prayers. Please do not relent in praying for us

An Imminent Vacation

From an anonymous source we have received money for Sandra and I to go on a vacation for about 3 weeks, between the months of August and September. Plans are still skeletal. In time, as I have more information, I will send it out. Sandra and I have been terribly overworked in the past couple of years, and thus we are looking forward to this vacation – to be away from home and from our regular work

Appreciations

With humble hearts of gratitude we say THANK YOU to you all who have been a source of support and encouragement to us in one way or the other in the many ways we have been trying to serve Christ in Nigeria. We thank you for the funds, for the prayers and for the moral support. May God be and abide with you all.
