We welcome Melinda Moore to our Highland Lakes congregation! She states, “I am ready to return to Jesus.” Melinda was baptized into Jesus Christ in the old baptistery many years ago. We rejoice in her decision to be restored to her Savior, Jesus Christ.
Please add her information to your directory. It is available in this week’s bulletin and from church office.

Salvador San Tillan is ready every Sunday morning to teach a Bible class in Spanish. This is a worthy endeavor. Do you have friends who would benefit from this Spanish Bible study? Let them know about it by giving them a warm, personal invitation. Those who already come, make them feel welcome and at home in our fellowship.

“In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” – Matthew 5:16 (ESV)
Jesus taught His disciples, which includes us, of the great power of good influence. Of how the message of God’s word and the living of the godly life that we are called to, can influence those around us all. Our good brother, Mike Udam, who preaches, teaches and works with the contacts of World Bible School in Nigeria, shares this wonderful example of the power found in good influence. Pray that we all seek ways to let godly lives lived here in Texas, in Nigeria and everywhere be to the furthering of God’s kingdom. For the elders, Ken D

The power of a good influence
I started my mission work at Ukpagada in July 2013. Met with 27 brethren including children. In January 2014, we had an Open air evangelism which lasted till 10.45 pm because we were held to ransom by one man – the clan head of the community. Three weeks later, he showed up in the worship place and in May 2014, he was baptized. The entire clan made up of eleven villages was shaken by this single conversion. Three months later, the chief was involved in an accident which nearly claimed his life. He spent near to a year in the orthopedic hospital. When he was fit to return to his clan, he started to use his life to preach the gospel. He displayed the true meaning of a Christian to other chiefs in his chiefdom.

Just last year November, the Ukpagada congregation took the gospel to Ukpe, a neighboring village, and to the glory of God, a congregation was planted there. A chief from one of the 11 Ukpagada villages, Joseph Mgbosho showed up in one of our Sunday morning worship service. During the time we usually exchange pleasantries with visitor, he told the entire assembly that he is here today because he has observed very closely the changed life of the Clan head Ntol Julius Mobre. According to him, the life of the clan head has tremendously changed. Consequently, he decided to go in search of Christ in a place where the clan head found Christ and got his life transformed.
After a few weeks of study with the church at Ukpe, I am delighted to share with you that chief Joseph Mgbosho was baptized last Sunday into Christ.
He took us to his home and bought soft drinks for us rejoicing that he is now saved by the gospel. Please keep him in your prayers and continue to partner with us to grow the work here.
