“Where is the wise man? Where is the scholar? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know Him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe. Jews demand miraculous signs and Greeks look for wisdom, but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.” — 1 Corinthians 1:20-24
We live in a day and age when ungodly men and women try to minimize the wisdom of God. We have those who have a new idea on how the Lord’s church should function. This effort is designed by the devil and his angels. Through the Holy Bible we are taught that the time would come when men would not endure sound doctrine, and that time is here. God had a prescription for the unbeliever, a dose of His Word.
What I like about God is He has the first word and the last word. God said, “I am Alpha and Omega.” The Church will always belong to Jesus and it will never be left up to mankind because men could not and did not die for her nor did men purchase the Church with blood. Only Jesus could and did (Acts 20:28). “And God placed all things under His feet and appointed Him to be head over everything for the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills everything in ever way” — Ephesians 1:22-23. The wise man knows God’s Word can be trusted and His truth cannot be changed, so we must conform to His way and not our way. “Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show it by his good life, by deeds done in humility that comes from wisdom” — James 3:13. James teaches us there are two kinds of wisdom. One is from heaven and the other is from hell. The question is, “Are you wise?”
